Described as “24-hour chic”, this bag can be worn daytime as a messenger or evenings as a clutch simply by removing the handle. A trend we are seeing more and more of as consumers demand more options for their dollars. It’s a trend that I really like too!

Although I’m excited this bag can be carried as a clutch, I have to say my favorite element is the handle itself! Little gold squares woven with tan leather create a very sophisticated edge that contrasts nicely to all of the stud-work we have been seeing lately. The fold-over top can also be worn upright simply by moving the handle and tassle to the top of the bag. Thereby eliminating my biggest complaint of foldover-bags which is wasted space! It’s a nifty little trick that doesn’t lose much in the design department when worn that way.

Inside, the design doesn’t stop. Two internal pouches and one zipped pocket with a detachable vanity mirror provide the storage spaces and items you need. (I love it when designers include extra little touches like mirrors with their bags!) A cream colored canvas finishes the bag.

The Marc Jacobs Stam bag has been flying under the radar at the end of 2005. But that is understandable, keeping in mind that it did had some mean competition as an IT bag from the Chloe Paddington, Chloe Silverado and Fendi Spy bag in the last two years. But it’s time has come for the Marc Jacobs Stam bag to shine.

Named after popular Canadian model, Jessica Stam, it has many stylish celebrities toting it around. Nicky Hilton (with collection of Stams in many differen colours), Hilary Duff, Mary J Blige, Hailey Duff, Lindsay Lohan (with her khaki and petrol blue Stam’s) and Dita von Tesse have been snapped carrying this quilted bag all around the world.

Spend a few minutes on the Marc Jacobs Stam bag thread at The Fashion Spot, you will discover that many fashionistas all over the world spend their time discussing at length what colour Stam they should buy.

So what’s to love about the bag? Well there is the quilted grained leather, detachable chunky antiqued brass shoulder strap and oversized Marc Jacobs-inscribed kiss-lock clasp. The Stam has a urban modern look with a vintage Marc Jacobs twist.

The Stam bag with its vintage vibe and Chanel-esque quilted look comes in more than a small handful of colours. The most popular is one that is of course the hardest to come across, the Petrol blue (as seen on Lindsay Lohan).

The bag has proved to be so popular that Marc Jacobs has decided to release new colours every season. I’ve been looking for quite some time, for a designer travel bag. I love the Louis Vuitton “Keepall” bags, but I kind of wanted something black. Using a bag as a travel bag can get dirty very easily especially if you travel a lot. My travel bags are notorious for getting fifty, so I knew a Louis Vuitton “Keepall” was definitely out of the question for me.

I have a black travel bag now, and you can’t even notice the wear and tear on it. I use it constantly, and for it to still look brand new is amazing.

When I spotted the Burberry “Weekender” Bag, I was in love! It was everything I was looking for in a designer travel bag! It was black, the perfect size, and came with a shoulder strap. I tend to carry a lot of shoes in my travel bags, so a shoulder strap is always a must.

It doesn’t look like you would be able to fit much in this bag, but I do think it would be a great carry on bag. Face it, nowadays you can’t have a big carry on bag to bring with you on the plane. If you can find a bag that can hold some clothes, shoes, and personal items then you got a winner. When a travel bag can do all that, plus be made by one of your favorite designer’s then that makes it all the more reason to buy it! Right?

The Burberry “Weekender” Bag can be purchased at Nordstrom for $795, which I believe is a great price for this bag. It’s not very often you can find a designer travel bag below $1,000 and that is a fact! It’s pretty, simple, and does justice for what you need it for. I give Burberry a “thumbs up” for designing this beautiful piece!

I love Ed Hardy shirts, and bathing suits, but once again the brand that is notorious for it’s amazing tattoo art work has disappointed me yet again. Ed Hardy has basically took the Louis Vuitton Speedy design and made a different yet horrific version. It seems that Ed Hardy was trying to reach new heights with this style of bag, but in reality made a handbag that looks tacky.

The Ed Hardy La Dolce Vita Bianca Satchel features colors all throughout the exterior of the handbag. Everywhere you look on the handbag is a splash of color, as well as a tattoo design. The tattoo designs work lovely on the Ed Hardy shoes, shirts, and bathing suits but on a handbag is looks like a complete fashion error. I suppose if you are a fan of tattoo’s you probably will love this handbag, but for fashionista’s that love true high fashion you may see this as a Gucci or Louis Vuitton copy cat.

Some details of the handbag include: being made of synthetic leather; dual handles; logo dangle embellishment; platform bottom with feet; top zip closure; and interior lining.

The Ed Hardy La Dolce Vita Bianca Satchel can be purchased at Zappos for $231, which I think is way too much for this handbag. The handbag is made of synthetic leather, and doesn’t have that “wow” factor for it to cost that much. If you love Ed Hardy though, you may just love this handbag.

It’s called the Marc Jacobs Safety Pin Stam Satchel. We’re all familiar with the Stam, but it appears as though Marc has chosen a rather unusual adornment for this particular version — two extra large safety pins. Leave it to good ol’ Marc to give us all a good chuckle! He has this way of taking something so ordinary and turning it into something extraordinary. Yes, it’s wacky and eccentric. But what can I say? Marc is a wacky and eccentric sorta guy (in a good way, of course!). And I can’t help but love him and his designs regardless. I’m always excited to see his new collections season after season, anxiously waiting to see what he’ll come up with next.

The Marc Jacobs Safety Pin Stam Satchel is available in Cobalt Blue (shown) or Black. The bag features an updated smooth texture and contrast trim.
