The best mascara (sigh) … Every woman at least once in her life called a quest for a mascara that would be perfect for her eyelashes.  And your humble writer is no exception.

So, as a result of years and years of searching, buying and experimenting, I finally found the 5 best mascaras that work perfectly on my average eyelashes.  And the best part is, these 5 top mascaras actually work on all types of eye lashes (my girlfriends tested them for me).

5. Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes Mascara …

“I was extremely skeptical about succumbing to the allures of the ball applicator, but I’m pretty impressed. Our Opinion:

Dior Diorshow is an excellent mascara, but it does not work for everyone (for me personally it came as a challenge at first, as the wand seemed too big for my little eyelashes, but it gave amazing results once I got a hand of it).   The girls with longer lashes don’t face a problem like that, usually they fall in love with this mascara at first try. They say although the brush is huge, it makes their lashes look incredible, long, well separated, with a lot of volume and curl…  It’s true.  I’ve seen it on my eyelashes and on the eyelashes of my friends – amazing results from a top Dior mascara!

Usual Complaints:

• it smudges after a couple of hours (so it might not be recommended for those with oily skin)
• the wand is too big

We do recommend you try it before purchasing just to see if Dior Diorshow is the right mascara for you.

Expert’s Opinion:

Our Opinion:

Being a make-up junkie I tried it all from Maybelline for $2.99 to DiorShow for $40 (that’s what they charge for it in Moscow, can you believe it!?). But Chanel Inimitable beats them all! Just like the ad says, with the first stroke you get the lashes you’ve always wanted! But of course you will need an eye lash curler before you apply the mascara. Your lashes will be spectacular, if you always thought that you had thin and not pretty eyelashes, this is the mascara to prove you wrong, it will make them look gorgeous!  The best mascara ever!

Usual Complaints:

- if you are looking for a very dramatic look and very thick eye lashes – that’s not the right mascara for you, it gives a natural look to the eye lashes (as in the ad of Chanel Inimitable below).
- very pricey

Who hasn’t spent hours trying to decide what type of lipstick would make their lips most luscious, and what colours would suit them best? I know I have! So, here are my top ten rules for picking the best lipstick for you.

1. Thin lips …

Colors to Try: Peach, pale pink, light beige, clear
Colors to Avoid: Red, dark red, dark purple, any shade of brown

If you have thin lips it’s better to avoid dark and bright colors and settle for softer, natural sheer ones. Start with outlining your lips with a lip pencil that’s close to the natural color of your lips and then fill them in with light pink or light coral or beige lipgloss. A friend of mine who has thin lips often uses Lip Plumping glosses that make her lips look so much fuller.

With full lips, you have quite a few options. Try not to buy plumping glosses, and instead apply a small amount of clear gloss to the middle of your top lip for the same affect. I have naturally full lips, and find that I don’t need lip liner, and rose colours look the most amazing!

Your daytime look should be casual, so stick to sheer glosses or light colours, and simple eye makeup. If you are going somewhere special, glam up your daytime look with a bit more color on your lips – the right shades of pink and beige compliment everyone!

I love to team red with blonde hair, but find many brown colours also look very glamorous. Experiment!

Artsy, Black and oh so Sexy! Givenchy has a gorgeous pair of black heels, that would be great for the Winter or for a night out on the town when you want to wear some shoe eye candy.

The only downfall about these stunning shoes is that they are satin. I’m not into shoes that are satin or suede just because of the fear of them being prone to getting dirty. It’s a minor downfall, but the buckle closure, cutout details, and peep toe really make this shoe stand out.

These shoes would look amazing with a sexy pair of skinny jeans or even a stylish pair of leggings. I wouldn’t personally wear these shoes with a dress but if you can rock, go right ahead!

Sometimes, an identifiable handbag is not wanted to be carried. Not only have obviously-logo’s bags become a bit outer in some circles, but sometimes it’s just hard to play keep-up, don’t you think?
