From Ashley Cole to Tiger Woods, it seems that even celebrity men can’t avoid the cheating bug. And while it should be reassuring that it’s clearly nothing to do with us, or any lacking on our part, instead it feels like cheating is everywhere. It’s a worrying trend, but it’s not a new one, and I’ve been studying up on ten hot celebrity women who bounced back from being cheated on…

1. Sandra Bullock

I’ve always admired Sandra. She has a great sense of humour, and is an amazing actress. So I’ll admit I was very shocked when it came out that her husband had cheated on her with a very tattooed woman. However, she is already working on her next movie, and is regularly nominated for awards. With or without him, Sandra is one unstoppable woman!

2. Elin Nordegren

Tiger and Elin always seemed very together, so when it emerged Tiger had been having an affair, it was shocking news to say the least. The media’s response was just as shocking, reporting arguments and even that Elin had hit Tiger with a golf club! Tiger eventually made a public speech declaring this as untrue, and apologizing to his wife and family for his behaviour. He then took a sabbatical from golf to spend time making it up to her, and despite reports that she was consulting a divorce lawyer, they were spotted looking loved up at recent golf tournaments. Elin also has a modeling career, which is going from strength to strength.

3. Jennifer Aniston

Who could forget Brad’s affair? While filming “Mr. And Mrs. Smith,” the media went wild with reports that Brad and Ang had gotten very close, but Jennifer and Brad were Hollywood’s dream couple, and no one could imagine them splitting up. So when the news broke that Brad had left Jen, most people couldn’t believe their ears. Jen has gone from strength to strength, though, and has been in many successful films and dated some of the hottest men in Hollywood.

4. Reese Witherspoon

America’s Sweetheart seemed to have the perfect family when she married Ryan Phillippe and had two beautiful children with him, but it wasn’t enough to stop him from bedding a co-star. Not one to be messed around, Reese said goodbye to seven years of marriage, and is now starring in amazing movies and bringing up her children. And looking amazing to boot!

5. Sienna Miller

I’ve always wanted to look like Sienna! She’s mastered blonde hair and pale skin, and oozes sophistication and gorgeousness. So it’s no wonder the gossip columns went into overdrive when Jude Law admitted sleeping with the couple’s nanny. Sienna and Jude split up 9 months later, and Sienna enjoyed a string of relationships that she said ‘helped her grow up.’ They’ve been spotted together again recently, and looked very happy, so I’m crossing my fingers that there is a happy ending for these two!

6. Elizabeth Hurley

Elizabeth and Hugh got together in the 1990s, and were a couple who were always snapped out and about together. When Hugh’s movie “Four Weddings And A Funeral” became a global success, he took Liz to an L.A. Premiere, and she wore that amazing black dress held together with large safety pins that made her famous. In 1995, Hugh was caught up in a prostitution scandal, and although Hurley initially stood by him, they split after 13 years together in 2000. Hurley has had a successful modelling career since then, being the face of Estee Lauder, and the godmother of the Beckham’s children!

7. Halle Berry

Being one of the sexiest women in the World hasn’t helped Halle, who has been married twice. She married Eric Benet in 2001, after meeting him in 1997, and adopted his daughter India. The couple split in 2005, with Eric blaming his infidelities on a sex addiction. It hasn’t stopped Halle, though, who campaigns for a domestic violence charity, and has a daughter.

8. Sophia Bush

Sophia and co-star Chad Micheal Murray seemed to be a match made in heaven when they met on the set of One Tree Hill, in 2003. They married in 2005, but split just five months later, with Sophia admitting to being ‘humiliated’ by Chad’s cheating. I’m glad I wasn’t on set with them afterwards… Sophia has gone from strength to strength, though, starring in “The Hitcher,” “John Tucker Must Die,” and “The Narrows.”

9. Uma Thurman

Uma’s personal life became very public when her husband admitted to sleeping with their babysitter, and male babysitters became much more popular as a result! The couple married in 1998, with Uma making no secret of the fact that they had hurried the wedding due to her being heavily pregnant. They had two children together, before splitting in 2004. While Uma has kept relatively quiet about the cheating, she’s stayed just as quiet about her alleged relationship with Quentin Tarantino, refusing to confirm or deny reports of romantic involvement. Her popularity sky rocketed after “Kill Bill,” and she’s rumoured to be acting in the Muppets film this year too!

10. Christie Brinkley

One of the most famous infidelities, Christie and Peter Cook met in 1979, and they married in 1996. They appeared to be a faultless couple until 2008, when Cook admitted to sleeping with an 18-year-old he met at a toy store, and to an internet porn addiction. The divorce case was well documented, with Brinkley giving Cook $2.1 million dollars in exchange for 18 properties and custody of their two children. She now does a lot of work for charity, and recently received a “Mother Of The Year” award.

While these stories aren’t feel-good, they serve as a helpful reminder that cheating doesn’t have to be the end. Whether you can forgive or not, life always gets better, and you could even find yourself more successful afterwards! They also show that cheating has no reflection on the victim, and only demonstrates a fault with the cheater, which its important to remember if you’ve recently found out you’ve been cheated on. Can you think of a celebrity whose bounced back from being cheated on? Please let me know!

The most expensive handbag on the list is the black crocodile Fendi B bag with a price tag of only $27,700.

NOw this is ridiculous:

The Louis Vuitton Urban Satchel Bag is created from all sorts of urban junk e.g. cigarette packets, water bottle, tea bags and band aid, the handbag is lavish and luxury fashion accessory with charms of beauty.

I’m normally in favor of adopting a homeless cat rather than buying a kitten from a breeder, as there are so many cats desperately in need of a home. However, if you do want a pedigree kitten, then Siamese make an excellent choice. Here I list some of the qualities that make them a wonderful addition to your life.

#1

Contrary to their reputation for being aloof, Siamese are actually very sociable and affectionate cats, and like attention from their owners. So they would make an excellent companion for someone who lives alone and doesn’t want a cat who ignores them! Your Siamese will keep chatting to you all day long … in fact, you might wish he would shut up!

#2

Siamese cats are so beautiful. Think of those gorgeous blue eyes! Plus they have a variety of color patterns. These include Seal point, Blue Point, Chocolate Point and Lilac point. Their beautiful coat is low-maintenance, however, and they need little grooming.

#3

They are good for people with children as they love to play. Siamese are also very tolerant of the way in which children can be a bit rough (although it is obviously very important that the child is taught to treat animals with respect). They love playing with toys, so kids can have lots of fun with them.

#4

Siamese are amenable to training, and will learn tricks such as fetching. They can even be taught to walk on a leash. As any cat owner will know, this is not normal feline behavior, which means that Siamese are in a league of their own. I tried walking my cat on a leash once, so that she could enjoy going outside. She made it very clear that she was not impressed by the leash part. I have never tried again.

#5

Have you ever been scratched when playing with your cat? Hazard of the job, I’d say (speaking from experience), and the cat is not doing it to be malicious. Unlike other cats, Siamese learn to keep their claws in.

#6

They are a very long-lived breed, and it is not unknown for them to live into their 20s. So, if you dread the thought of losing a beloved pet, and want to keep him or her around as long as possible, then a Siamese will give you an excellent chance of maximum time together.

#7

Do you sometimes find yourself feeling rather put out if your cat treats you like a servant, and only wants to know you at mealtimes? Siamese, on the other hand, are extremely affectionate cats and will follow you everywhere. No chance of being ignored! They love to sit on your lap and sleep alongside you, so would be a great friend for an older person who lives alone.

#8

They usually get on well with other animals, so if you have or are planning to get a dog, the Siamese will probably be very tolerant. Also, if you spend a lot of time outside the home, it would be a good idea to get another cat, given the Siamese’s need for company.

Are you a fan of Siamese? Do you have another favorite breed, or do you prefer your regular moggy?

It’s that time again, summer, the time of year when all those outdoor date activities you can’t do in the frozen tundra unthaw and become fun again. So this year, try out some great outdoor dates with your new man, or even the one that stuck with you through the seasons. Who knows, maybe the heat will transfer to your love life when you try these great summer date ideas!

1. Picnic

It seems a little cliché but there is something very cute and romantic about packing up some snacks and eating in the sunshine. Not only will you get to talk to your date but you also get to enjoy the rays on your face. Just watch out for ants and pesky bears with Asian inspired names.

2. Beach Day

It’s time to bust out the bikini and the beach bag. Why not take your date to the water and have some fun flirting under the sun. Take a dip, splash away, and lean back to catch some rays. Just remember to pack up your sunscreen, and make sure your date helps you put it on your back!

3. Sailing

Now for this one you actually need a little bit of experience. You or your date need to have gone sailing before and need to get your hands on a sailboat (please avoid any thievery to achieve this). Once you’re out on the water you’ll get a unique and fun experience and who knows, maybe if you don’t know how to sail you will at the end of the date!

4. Mini-golfing

That’s right, outdoor mini golfing is back. It seems a little cheesy and young but, it can be a lot of fun. Challenge your date to see who can make the least shots to make the ball at each hole.

Maybe let him win a little bit if it’s the first date. Either way, mini golfing is a great way to have a little fun on your date.

5. Sporting Event

Take me out to the ball game! That’s right, it’s the season for outdoor sporting events and baseball caps. Why not take your fellah to a game. Either pay the money for some big game tickets or, if you’re on a budget go to a local game at a park. The blood might not pump the same way that it does at a big league game but you’ll still have a lot of fun!

6. Bike Ride

It’s time to dust the cobwebs off your poor deserted Schwinn, put some air in those tires and go for a good old fashioned bike ride. Just remember, cool down and relax, the bike ride isn’t about going the fastest. This date is all about enjoying the scenery with each other. Just remember, keep your balance!

7. Go to the Park

This is more of a date for people that have been together a while. Grab a blanket and a book and lay out in the shade with your favorite book and your favorite guy. You don’t need to talk a whole lot just enjoy each others company. Or, if you just started dating, swing on the swings and act like a kid again! If that doesn’t spark conversation there isn’t much that will!

Well ladies, I hope the summer heat brings new fire to your love lives. Just remember, it’s summertime, the season is doing most of the work for you. All you have to do is kick back and let it! What are some of your summer date ideas? Let me know down below!

I love the summer, but don’t enjoy the sweating that comes along with the warmer weather. I try to avoid sweating, if at all possible. I thought I’d share my top 10 tips to staying cool during the summer, in order to give you some ideas. I hope you find at least some of them to be useful.

10. Visit a water park

Water parks can be a blast for the entire family. There’s also usually food available at these places, so that tends to take care of any lunch needs as well. If you aren’t the water slide type of person, then lounging in the wade pool or floating around on an inner tube are a couple of other options often present at most water parks. On extremely hot days, these might be a bit crowded, but they are totally worth it.

9. Turn on the sprinkler

Sprinklers are a great source of entertainment, no matter what age you are. Kids often prefer the type that are staked out on the lawn and that send a spray of water in every direction. I’ve found it refreshing to plant my lawn chair in a wading pool and hang the sprinkler from a branch overhead. This is sort of like an outdoor shower and a great way to cool down.

8. Wear light colored clothing

If you’ve ever tried to walk on black asphalt, you know how hot it gets. The dark color of the asphalt is what makes it so hot, which holds true for clothing as well. Wearing clothing that is light in color will keep you much cooler. Adding a light colored hat to your wardrobe also isn’t a bad idea for the summer months. There are many fashionable straw hats that look great with most summer outfits.

7. Avoid the hottest part of the day

Of course, the easiest way to keep cool is by staying out of the sun during the hottest part of the day. I know, this is often easier said than done. If there is something that needs to be done outside, then try to wait until it is a bit cooler in the day. Early in the morning or late in the evening are going to be times when the sun isn’t quite so hot.

6. Drink plenty of water

Being well-hydrated is important during the summer. This is a natural cooling mechanism for the body. I always try to have one or two water bottles filled half-way with water in the freezer. I fill one up with water before leaving the house, so I always have ice water available. These frozen water bottles make great neck coolers too or you can roll them on the bottom of your feet when sitting outside in the shade.

5. Don’t over exert yourself outside

Summer is also the time for a lot of yard work. Doing yard work early in the morning will make it a bit easier to stand the heat, since the sun won’t be as high in the sky. If you do have to be out during the noonday sun, be sure to take frequent breaks and make sure you cool off from time to time. It is very easy to become over exerted and have a heat stroke.

4. Hang out at the pool or lake

I know not everyone has the option to lounge by a pool or hang out on the lake, but this is a great way to stay cool. Both of these places enable you to enjoy some cool water and relax in the sun as well. Be careful to stay covered in the sunblock though. The reflection off the water will cause you to burn twice as fast as simply standing out in the yard.

3. Eat some ice cream or sorbet

Cooling off your insides will make you feel cooler all over. I like taking the kids out for ice cream at the end of a hot day. We sit in the shade and enjoy our cones to the fullest. If you aren’t a big fan of dairy, then sorbet might be your thing. This consists of fruit that has been pureed and frozen. Yum! For busy kids, I find that the frozen juice in those long, thin plastic wrappers work best. They can head out doors with one of these in hand and not worry about it dripping down their arm.

2. Read a book in front of the fan

Sometimes the only option for keeping cool is with an oscillating or box fan. Thankfully, these are relatively cheap nowadays. Sitting still for a bit in front of one of the fan might be just what is needed to cool down. I usually read a book or magazine, so that I don’t have the heat from the television radiating towards me as well.

1. Take a cool shower

When all else fails, there’s always the option of taking a cool shower. You can even lounge in a tub full of cold water if you don’t enjoy showers. It’s similar to sitting in the wading pool in the yard, but there are no bugs or neighbors to worry about. At least with a cool bath, you can pour in some bubbles to make it a bit more exciting if you want!

I hope you find these 10 tips to staying cool during the summer helpful next time you need to get away from the heat. Do you have some helpful ways that you’d like to share on keeping cool? Let me know what methods work best for you.

Who hasn’t spent a lunch hour or two daydreaming of owning their own business, being their own boss? I know I have — so I actually did start my own business… three of them, actually, and one is still going strong. It’s not all fun and games, though, but there are advantages. If you’re considering opening your own shop or salon or charity group, here are some pros and cons of starting your own business to consider…

1. Pro: You make your own hours

The first thing most people say they think they’ll love about starting their own business is that they’ll get to make their own hours, and only work when they want to. Don’t want to work Saturdays or Tuesdays? Then you can decide to close your business, or just not work, on those days.

2. Con: You’ll be working all the time

On the other hand, once you’re in business for yourself, you’ll find that you end up working

a lot more than you ever did when you were working for someone else. You won’t leave anything undone at the end of the day.

3. Pro: You’ll be in charge

If you’re in business for yourself, who will you have to answer to if you’re five minutes late or misplace a report? No-one! You don’t answer to anyone when you’re the one and only boss, so you are free to make, and learn from, small mistakes.

4. Con: There won’t be anyone else to help, or be responsible

But then again, when you’re in business for yourself, by yourself, you bear all of the responsibility, too. There’s no-one to take over, or to make a decision you don’t want to make.

5. Pro: You get to use all of your talents

If you’re good with people, and happen to also be a great pastry chef AND have a knack for ad design, then you’ll be able to leverage all of your talents if you open your own wedding cake bakery. You’ll make the ads, contact the media, meet with brides-to-be, negotiate for a retail space, fill out IRS and tax paperwork, and … you’ll get to bake, too!

6. Con: You might feel overwhelmed

Wearing all of those hats might be fun for a while, but you may also feel overwhelmed with everything you have to accomplish on your own, before you can hire a staff.

7. Pro: You can help your local economy!

This is one you might not think if at first, but by opening and running a small business, you’ll be contributing to your local economy, especially if you get big enough to hire any staff. Small businesses

are the backbone of our economies, and you’ll be helping keep that going!

Once you consider all of these pros and cons, you’ll be a little closer to deciding whether or not to launch your own small business. Have you started a business of your own? How has it worked out? Do you have any other pros and cons to share?

The Wedding season has arrived, and I seem to be getting an invite a day these days! And while I love weddings just as much as the next girl, they can get expensive. Next month alone, I have 9 weddings, with 3 being so far away that I’ll need to book accommodation, and pay for someone to feed my pets while I’m gone. So, I’ve been considering how to save money so that the season of happiness doesn’t send me bankrupt, and here are my top eight tips…

1. Think Smart

Photo Credit: Its all about the cake

Most couples have a wedding list these days, and send a paper copy in the invitation, or send around an electronic link to the list. Instead of putting off buying the present until closer to the day, choose an affordable but great gift off the list and buy it as soon as you can. That way, you won’t be the one left with all the expensive presents to choose from!

2. Be Creative

As well as the main present, there are also plenty of mini-gifts that may not be compulsory, but are certainly expected. Once you’ve decided on your main present, get creative for the smaller ones. Think about what you know about the bride and groom, and use your knowledge. For the engagement party, buy them a bottle of wine from a wine shop, and give it in a pretty bag with a note to drink it when its much older, and matured. Newer wine is much cheaper, and the sentiment is really cute! For her hen party, you could make a photo album for her?

3. Look At Cheap Flights

Overseas weddings take a lot of planning, and usually the couple will decide where to marry months earlier then they tell the guests. If you start looking at flights from the moment you know where you are going, you’ll be able to see any patterns in flight prices, and know when to book for best results. I use yapta.com when I’m booking flights, which monitor the price of the flight and emails you as soon as the price is lowered. If you can’t find any cheap flights in advance, don’t be afraid to fly separately from the rest of the bridal party if you can get a cheaper flight.

4. Get An Interchangeable Outfit

I had a friend last year who couldn’t afford weddings, and decided that instead of missing out, she’d buy one outfit and wear it repeatedly. It worked okay, but whenever the pictures for last year come out, she’s always in the same clothes, and it became a running joke that she didn’t own anymore. While I wouldn’t recommend rocking an identical outfit, having something interchangeable is a great moneysaving idea! Ive invested in this ( victoriassecret.com gorgeous dress, which can be changed into so many different styles that no one would ever guess its the same!

5. Gift Cards

When you’ve narrowed down what you are going to buy, and where to get it from for the best price, keep your eye out for voucher codes and gift card offers which can help you to lower the price even more. Ebay regularly has vouchers sell for $10 – $40 under their actual value, and sites such as retailmenot.com regularly have money off codes too. I’ve saved so much money through this!

6. Negotiate Your Hotel Bill

Most couples will negotiate the price their guests pay for hotel rooms anyway, but don’t assume that because its less then advertised, its the best the hotel can do. Check out hotel booking sites online, and see if they can get a lower price. If you really can’t get it down any further, consider sharing a room with another traveller. It’s a great way to meet new people and save money!

7. Bridesmaid Bonus

Most bridesmaids dresses will never be worn again, so while it has to look good for the photos, you don’t need to spend a fortune. Go in as a group, and negotiate a group discount with the shop. Then, always decline alterations at the shop itself, and instead take it to a family tailoring business or a dress maker, who will usually charge a lot less and negotiate again if there is a group of you needing alterations. I’ve saved £450 on my latest bridesmaid dress, by pushing for a good deal, so I don’t feel quite so horrified by the peach-and-green colour scheme…

8. Road Trip

If the wedding is a distance away, try to arrange transport as a group. Find the person with the most fuel efficient car, and use that. Use a trip advisor to work out the total distance, and the cost of fuel, and divide this by the number of travellers. Then add a small amount for food, and a contribution to the driver for the use of the car. Taking it in turn to drive makes it a little fairer, but this can be hard to put into practise due to insurance, so sweet talk the driver and make the journey part of the fun!

I’ve been using this tips for a few weeks, and I’ve saved so much money! Whereas weddings were one of the most expensive events on my calendar, they are now affordable, and just as much fun. I can’t wait for the next lot! Have you got a tip for saving money on weddings? Please let me know!

Awwww! But don’t get him wrong, he says, “One of the best things in the world to me. Is just lying with a girlfriend. I love the little things like that. It doesn’t matter what you are doing and you could even be watching a movie. I love that.”
